The ranch is surrounded by some of the best fishing and hunting in the Rocky Mountains.  The Eastdale Reservoir is a short walk away!  The famous Rio Grande river is just 4 miles to the southwest!  Only a few miles south is the beginning of a large area of BLM land.  The area is home to antelope and occasional deer or elk.  Hiking and “dune buggying” can be done in nearby areas.  Winter sports – skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling – are close by too in the ski resorts of northern New Mexico; Red River, Taos and Angel Fire are all 50 to 70 miles away.
